Post-doc in Technology and Social change (Linköping, Sweden)
Applications are invited for a new Post Doc position in Science and Technology Studies at Linköping University (ref TEMA-2016-00185).
Two years in the first instance.
The successful applicant will work in conjunction with Professor Steve Woolgar, as part of the Department of Thematic Studies (Technology and Social Change) – a lively and growing unit of some 50 Faculty, Postdoctoral Researchers and PhD students. Current research includes topics such as values (the unit is home to the journal Valuation Studies), health and medicine, patient experience, algorithms, digital technologies, intervention, revelation, and critique.
For this position, research interests and substantive topics are open, although preference may be given to applicants with interests or experience in any of the following:
· – Technologies of evaluation: rating, ranking and assessment· – Digital technologies; visualization· – Development and use of algorithms, as played out for example, in the analysis of big data· – Markets and marketing
Applications are especially welcome from candidates with interests in contemporary STS theoretical themes, such as materiality, ontology, multiplicity, performativity and agency.
